Lapeyre is set among sunflowers and corn fields with a lovely view over a wooded valley and fields to the village.
It is situated on the actual border of the rural departments of Lot-et-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne.
Lapeyre is between the charming villages of Bourg-de-Visa and Beauville, each
with a boulangerie, general store, bank restaurant and somewhere to buy UK Papers!
It is possible to cycle or walk into Bourg-de-visa to buy your morning baguette and croissants.
Our usually hot and sunny
summers can be enjoyed on the vine covered patio in your neat private garden
or swimming in the pool (shared with us).
Visiting some of the many interesting markets is a great way to spend a morning - nothing like sitting on the terrace of a cafe, sipping a cold drink or a cafe creme watching the world go by! Some of the best markets at Valence D'Agen (Tuesday), Libos (Thursday), Montaigue-de-Quercy and Moissac
(Saturday), along with the little Sunday morning markets at Rocquecor and Montcuq.
Going further afield, it is an easy run to Moissac with it's beautiful Abbey and Cloisters, Cahors and Agen for shopping, Parc Walibi for the children, Chateau de Bonaguil and many hilltop Bastide villages such as Monflancquin.
Even further afield, but possible on a longer day out, are the Pyrenees (which can be seen from here on a good day) and the Atlantic Coast.
If you enjoy wine, there are endless local varieties and you can visit
some of the vineyards of the Lot Valley producing Cahors wine and maybe visit Bergerac and Montbazillac.
No doubt you enjoy eating out as well as a glass or two of wine! There are numerous restaurants within easy reach ranging from a really excellent Pizzeria to a 3* Michelin restaurant, L'Aubergarde in the nearby village of Puymirol - however, be warned,
you may possibly need a second mortgage to eat there!
